[Update: Verizon] Android 9 Pie rolling out to the Galaxy S8, S8+, and Note 8 on Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile

Samsung’s One UI is possibly the hottest update the company has issued for its devices. Owners of the S9, S9+, and Note9 have enjoyed it for a while, and so have those who bought the new S10/S10+/S10e, but users who have the older generation of flagships from 2017 have had to wait a little longer. After a few months in beta, the S8 and S8+’s update began rolling out in Europe and is now crossing the Atlantic to the US.

Sprint has issued the update for the S8 and S8+ and users are already reporting seeing the OTA notification. The update brings the March security update and weighs somewhere around 1500-1600MB, so make sure you have an unlimited and fast connection before you download it.

Once downloaded, your phone should be running Android 9 Pie with all the neat modifications of One UI, such as the night mode and more accessible icons on the bottom of the display.

Note8 on Sprint too

The OTA is also rolling out for the Sprint Galaxy Note8.

ATT and T-Mobile join in

The Pie update is rolling out to the S8 and S8+ on both ATT and T-Mobile. For Note8 users, we’ve only seen reports of the software reaching ATT users, but odds are T-Mobile won’t be far behind.
