I absolutely adore my Sansui, but over the past few months he right channel has been suffering from distortion that seems to be getting worse. It's present in both speaker systems, A and B. It is also present in the right channel when using headphones, so I'm guessing it's not in the output stage. I've swapped out several different sets of speakers and the distortion affects them all, yet they all sound fine when played through some of my other amps and receivers. I've taken a good look under the cover, there doesn't seem to be any bad solder joints or problematic filtering caps. I used contact cleaner on the pots, etc., still no joy. It definitely needs professional help! I'm guessing the power amp needs repair and the amp needs a complete recap.
