Microphone cable has broken due to wear and tear. I just need the small green wire in the photo reconnected and the cable re-sealed. Putting them together manually allows the headset to function. The negative effect is the manual mute button and microphone no longer work. Once repaired the manual mute button should work again and the headset should be picked up properly as a USB device. Should be a simple electronics re-connection job.
