My iPhone 7 32GB has developed a problem this week whereby the microphone and speaker do not work during calls.
The loudspeaker icon is also greyed out during calls.
The phone will still make calls but the person on the other end cannot hear me and I cannot hear them.
WhatsApp will also not call, stating that I cannot make a call while I am on another call.
Call functionality using my Bluetooth earphones with built in microphone still works.
The speaker itself still works perfectly when playing music, watching videos etc.From doing a bit of googling it looks like the problem might be the audio IC chip. Other people seemed to be able to fix the problem by reinforcing the weak soldering pads, especially C12 pad, or by replacing the chip altogether; both of which require microsoldering expertise.
