Problem appear to be with the 'On' switch. Has been working fine and there was no dramatic surge or incident. Just this morning I turned it on, the red power/standby indicator light came on, and when I tried to turn it on with the remote it clicked as though it was turning on but the screen remained black for approx 10 seconds and then clicked 'Off'. (It is a 15 year old Plasma TV so maybe that's just an indication of the end of its life?)
