Hi all,
I purchased this TV around 2017/2018. I cannot remember exact date. It was bought online. I don’t have a copy of receipt, but you can get the information from the serial number.
As for the problem itself, 2 days ago I turned it on, out of nowhere I noticed it a bit darker from the top half. Thought it could be a channel issue. Tried different channels, but same issue persisted. Then, I tried turning it off and on. Or maybe changing the brightness, but no luck. Took off the cables from the back, still nothing. However, I noticed that if I press it with a bit of force from the back, it dims back up again(as you can see from the last picture) it also makes a sound for a few seconds then goes back to being dim black.
Pictures have been attached. I tried contacting Philips, I was very disappointed with the service they offered. Fair enough, if this was the cause of physical damage of such, I’d own up to it. But for it to happen out of nowhere in a relative short period of time! I had my Samsung Tv for nearly 10 years now, and it never gave me any problems.
From looking online, I think it could be a motherboard or backlight problem.
